Breitling is a brand of Swiss watches from the Canton of Jura. They are modified in the Breitling Chronometrie Workshops (former Kelek S.A.) The watchmaker offers Certified Chronometers designed primarily for aviation use. Next to this they are frequently worn as high-end luxury watches.
Breitling was founded in 1884 by the technician Louis Breitling from Switserland. He opened a manufacturing space specialised in watches and stopwatches, which were used for scientific purposes. At that time Breitling did not already created normal watches.
Quartz models for example, such as the Breitling Aeromarine Colt, start at over $1,500 dollar, while typical prices of mechanical, steel cased models are 7,300 US dollar for the Breitling Bentley Motors model. The most expensive among the Breitling watches can cost over 300 thousand dollar.
The expense is clearly in the 38 jewel self-winding movement, as these steel cased models are more expensive than some of Breitling's Titanium or Gold models.
Nowadays Breitling is still investing a lot of money in innovation and research. The brand is constantly bringing new discoveries and is producing more advanced chronometrics.
